The College Corner Cafe is open!!!!!.  Besides great food and awesome drinks, the CCC will feature live music on the weekends along with jazz trios and open pickin' sessions on Thursday nights.

The CCC has been years in the making.  It is the result of Larry "Smitty" Smith's years in the restaurant/bar/live music business in Colorado, California, and Texas. His travels have led him back to his high school friends in Dallas and now to Commerce. One of those friends from Dallas is Kenny Daniel, a musician from the early days with his band Kenny & the Kasuals.  Larry and Kenny always wanted a place to showcase each other's talents and now it will happen at The College Corner Cafe.

During his years designing and managing bars and restaurants in California Smitty was able to meet and hang with musicians like the Doobie Brothers, Bad Company and others. After moving to Austin, he opened Hut's Hamburgers and met Clifford Antone.  Clifford made Austin the "Live Music Capital of the World". He introduced Smitty to Stevie Ray Vaughan, his brother Jimmy, Kim Wilson & the T-Birds, Lou Ann Barton, Paul Ray & the Cobras, Rusty Wier, Delbert McClinton and many others. Most all played at his clubs or a concert he promoted.

Smitty and Kenny's idea was to open a quality place in all aspects. The decor will make you feel comfortable as soon as you enter. You will be surrounded by Smitty's music memorabilia collection covering the walls. The food will be Texas favorites with spicy twist and homemade. The drink list will give everyone something for that special taste. The wine list will feature all Texas wines. Every night will have some type of special.
